Renewable energy developer WBS Power appears to have withdrawn plans for a data center with a proposed 1.6GW power connection in Trzebnica, Lower Silesia, southwestern Poland. The WBS Power 3 project would have included buildings up to 35 meters tall, on-site diesel generators, and energy storage facilities.

NOWagazeta.pl reported the proposal after councilor Marcin Raczyński said the project had been included in the municipality’s spatial development plan without adequately briefing councilors on its details.
The investor reportedly withdrew its attempt to buy the site in September after failing to secure confirmation from regional utility Tauron that it could supply the required power, according to landowner PPHU Sady Trzebnica. Neither WBS Power nor the municipality has officially confirmed the withdrawal, and proposed planning changes allowing a data center remain under consideration.

WBS Power is developing a 500MW data center in Germany with Prime Capital and plans a 3.2GW campus in Choczewo, Poland. Other Polish data center projects have faced opposition, including a Nowa Wieś facility blocked in September and a Warsaw-area project criticized over water supply concerns.
