Madrid: Thor Equities Sets Up Data Center Unit, To Develop a 100MW Facility in Madrid, Spain

Thor Equities has announced its plans to move into data centers. The US real estate group, is also looking to develop its first data center in Madrid, Spain. Thor Equities will be doing this by launching a new data center division called Thor Digital. The new unit will be headed by Roy Gibbens, Ark DC’s former sales & marketing director. Thor Equities is looking to develop a €600M data center in Madrid called Madrid One. The 200,000 square meter campus will deliver up to 20MW in capacity in the first phase. It can also be expanded to 100MW upon full build-out.
Joseph Sitt, Thor Equities Group’s Chairman, said the company’s decision to pursue data center assets aligns with its futuristic strategy and approach to acquire and develop state-of-the-art assets across the globe. He noted that the Madrid One facility shows Thor’s commitment to developing a diverse portfolio in Europe. According to Thor, the project is currently in an advanced design stage. It will also begin construction later this year.
