Thor Equities has announced the acquisition of a former Coca-Cola bottling plant in Madrid, Spain. The site is planned for a data center campus development. Swiss real estate investment company Stoneweg completed the sale on behalf of the Icona Capital Group to Thor. None of the companies revealed the terms of the transaction. Thor was founded in 1986 and traditionally focuses on industrial, residential, and retail buildings. The company has a rich portfolio with locations in Latin America, Europe, and the US.
Thor Equities launched its new digital infrastructure unit called Thor Digital earlier in April. The company plans to develop a hyperscale facility in Madrid, Spain. The data center's first phase will provide up to 20MW of power. It will also provide up to 100MW of capacity upon full build-out. The company also plans to invest up to €600 million in developing the project.
