Spanish data center firm Templus has acquired Spanish colo bitNAP from Cellnex, including bitNAP’s only data center facility in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. The facility offers 1.7MW of power across 3,000 sqm (32,291 sq ft), with a PUE of 1.14.
“This acquisition not only expands our market presence but also underlines our dedication to providing cutting-edge technological solutions. Barcelona represents a significant step in our growth strategy and will allow us to enhance our service offering and respond more effectively to our customers’ needs,” said Nacho Velilla, CEO at Templus.
Templus launched last year after ICG and Teras Capital acquired the data center business of Spanish telco Avatel. The Avatel portfolio, along with a data center acquired from Mapfe, make up Templus’ current data center network. The company currently operates 20 facilities across Spain, mainly in Madrid, Malaga, and Seville. The company is also targeting facilities in Valencia, Zaragoza, and San Sebastián.
