Indonesian telco Telkomsel has deployed 49 base stations to support 4G and 5G mobile services in the country's new capital city, Nusantara which is set to open on August 17, located on the island of Borneo, 800 miles away from the current capital Jakarta on the island of Java.
"By ensuring the optimization of the leading broadband network, we are committed to providing convenient communication access in the Capital City of the Archipelago and supporting digital transformation in various sectors in order to realize the vision of IKN to become a sustainable city in the world that has smart city capabilities based on future technology," said Telkomsel network director, Indra Mardiatna.
"This step is in line with Telkomsel's vision and mission to provide leading services that empower the community, and support the government in efforts to equalize development and provide infrastructure that can become a sustainable driver of the Indonesian economy."
