Telkom Indonesia has unveiled a brand-new data center in Bandar Lampung. Telkom's director of wholesale and international service, Bogi Witjaksono, the EVP of regional I area Sumatra, Djatmiko Djatmiko, and the EVP of the wholesale service division, Muhammad Rofik, attended the inauguration. Djatmiko reported that one-third of the facility's racks are currently occupied.

Bandar Lampung is located in the province of Lampung in South Sumatra. Telkom has established five data centers in the Sumatra region, in Medan, Batam, Pekanbaru, and Palembang. Through its neuCentrIX/NeutraDC units, the majority-state-owned telecommunications provider offers more than 1,000 capacity racks across 23 facilities in 17 metropolitan areas.

A year ago, it was reported that Telkom Indonesia was contemplating the sale of its data center unit, which could be worth $1 billion. A business IPO was planned for 2023, according to a statement made by the company the previous year.
