Spain: Telco Group Aire merges with Canary Islands telco Idecnet

Spanish telecoms firm Aire this week announced that it is acquiring Canary Islands telco Idecnet as it looks to consolidate its presence in the region. 

Raúl Aledo, CEO of Grupo Aire, said, “The arrival of Idecnet to Grupo Aire responds to our national and international growth strategy, which is based on incorporating companies that help us reinforce our commitment to customers, offering increasingly technological solutions. complete and personalized.”

He added, “With the merger of Idecnet, we consolidate our positioning in the Canary Islands, expanding our network and data center infrastructure with the help of one of the main players in the telco market on the islands. In addition, we are delighted to welcome a team of professionals with extensive experience in the sector to Grupo Aire.”

Juan Manuel Castellano, CEO of Idecnet, also commented, “The integration into Grupo Aire allows us to benefit from the strength of a large business group, and increase the infrastructure and services that we will offer to Canarian companies outside the Islands. The entry into Grupo Aire also favors the approach to companies in the audiovisual industry that are established in the Canary Islands to become their service provider through a complete portfolio of solutions.”
