Sentinum, Inc., previously known as BitNile, Inc., has broken ground in Montana on a new cryptomine data center. This week, Ault Alliance, the holding company and parent company of Sentinum, announced that construction had begun on a 20MW facility, which should be operational by the end of the year. Additional information about the facility, including its location, was not provided.

BNI Montana, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sentinum, acquired a land lease and power agreement earlier this year to construct operational data facilities at the location, primarily for Bitcoin mining operations (though the company also provides colocation offerings).  The company estimates the site has the potential to "significantly" expand. However, an electrical load feasibility examination would need to be conducted, and Sentinum would need more capital to increase capacity.

Sentinum operates a 28MW data center in Michigan at present. The 617,000-square-foot Michigan facility, acquired in May 2022, offers 28MW of IT capacity and reportedly can scale up to 300MW. Sentinum also has agreements for a 78MW-scalable, 12-MW data center in West Texas.
