Atlanta-based TAC Data Centers is set to invest between $1 billion and $1.5 billion in a new 569-acre development in Montana, adjacent to the AgriTech Park. This ambitious project, dubbed Project Cardinal, will encompass 2 million square feet (185,805 sqm) of data center space.
Construction is slated to kick off in 2026. The first buildings, ranging from 135,000 to 200,000 square feet (12,540-18,580 sqm), are expected to be operational by late 2027 or early 2028. The company anticipates the entire campus will be fully built out by 2030.
TAC Data Centers is a wholly-owned data center platform of The Ardent Companies. It's important to note that this is a distinct entity from Northern Data's Ardent Data Centers unit.
