Rowan Green Data can finally go ahead with its data center development in Temple, Texas after city council officials have approved its zoning request. The company announced late last year that it wants to develop 12,500 square meters (135,000 square feet of data center buildings on a site in Bell County. The Temple council officials voted to rezone 162 acres of land from agricultural use to light industrial use per verified sources.
Rowan plans to use 33 acres of land in Synergy Park at 2810 Bob White Road for data center development. However, it also has the right to buy up to 142 acres more for further development. Per reports, the project’s first phase will offer 200MW in capacity and 500MW upon full build-out. In addition, an economic development deal around waterworks was signed. The agreement will see Green Data invest up to $225 million in the data center project. It will also create a minimum of 20 jobs while starting construction within a year.
