Prime Data Centers has broken ground on three of five buildings at its 240MW PHX01 campus in Phoenix. Each 267,000 sq ft facility will deliver 48MW of IT capacity, while the campus’ new 250MW substation is expected to provide 144MW of IT load in Phase I.
The campus is being developed on a 66.5-acre site at 3700 S. Avondale Boulevard in Phoenix, which Prime Data Centers acquired for about $28.9 million in April 2023. The company said the first three buildings have already been leased to a leading hyperscaler, while the remaining two facilities are still open for customers.
Prime Data Centers has a 7GW portfolio of operational and planned capacity across the US and Europe, with developments in Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Silicon Valley, Frankfurt, and Madrid. In April, private investment firm Grain Management invested in Prime’s controlling shareholder, Data Realty Holding Corp., providing additional financial support for the company’s expansion plans.
