AREP-owned PowerHouse and Provident Data Centers this week announced the co-development of a 768-acre data center campus with a 1.8GW switchyard in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas. Located just outside of Grand Prairie in northern Ellis County, the first 500MW tranche has already been approved through ERCOT.

"Provident and PowerHouse are committed to creating lasting benefits to the communities where we build," said Provident founder and CEO Leon Backes. "This campus will create significant economic opportunities in Texas while strengthening the state's position as a critical hub for digital infrastructure and next-generation computing. We are committed to developing high-quality projects that meet the market's evolving needs, and this data center campus exemplifies that commitment."

Doug Fleit, co-founder and CEO of PowerHouse Data Centers, added: "Our venture with Provident is emblematic of the speed to market we bring to bear for hyperscale users. Our partnership centers around a forward-thinking blend of resources, expertise, and ability to meet the most stringent hyperscales requirements in the fast pace world we live in."
