ePLDT: PLDT Breaks Ground on The Largest Data Center in The Philippines

PLDT has begun working on a new data center outside Manila, the Philippines. The Philippines telco revealed plans for the 100MW facility in Santa Rosa last month. It had a ceremony earlier in the week to celebrate the groundbreaking at the site. The ceremony was led by The President and CEO of the company, Alfredo S. Panlilio and the Chairman, Manuel V. Pangilinan. PLDT will name the data center Vitro Sta. Rosa. It will also be the company’s 11th data center. In addition, it will also be the largest data center campus in the entire country. The data center will be housed on a five-hectare plot.
Alfredo S. Panlilio said the group aims to build the nation digitally. He added that the PLDT aims to make the Philippines the next hyperscale destination in the APAC region. Panlilio further noted that the company aims to use the data center to set a benchmark in operational excellence, infrastructure resilience, world-class sustainability, and global competitiveness.
