PhonePe launches its first Green Data Center in India

PhonePe has announced that it has launched its first green data center in India. According to the company, this addition will open up new opportunities from a data management perspective while bolstering data security, power efficiency, and cloud solutions, made possible by PhonePe leveraging technologies and solutions from Dell Technologies and NTT.

The new facility has a capacity of 4.8 MW, spanning 13740 sqft and is based at Mahape, Navi Mumbai. Built with sustainability in mind, the data center will utilize ​​Direct Contact Liquid Cooling (DCLC) and Liquid Immersion Cooling (LIC) as alternative cooling methods saving over 25% on electricity. The green data center will also use Dell PowerEdge servers.

Speaking at the launch, Burzin Engineer, Co-founder and Chief Reliability Officer, PhonePe, said: "At PhonePe, we are driven by using technology to offer every Indian an equal opportunity to unlock the flow of money and provide them access to financial services.
