Colt Data Centre Services (DCS) opened its first Indian data center last week. Colt DCS's flagship data center in Navi Mumbai enters the booming Indian data center market, expected to reach 1.318 GW by 2024. Colt DCS hopes to meet the growing demand from hyperscale cloud service providers and large Indian organizations with this expansion.
India's digital demand has grown significantly, according to Colt DCS's statement. Data center capacity in India is expected to reach 1.4 gigawatts (GW) by 2025, with Navi Mumbai accounting for 50% of that capacity.
Colt DCS stated the Navi Mumbai Data Centre can support 120 megawatts (MW) of IT power on 15 acres and is flexible and scalable. Colt DCS can satisfy fast-changing technology trends and use cases like AI, high-performance computing, machine learning, as well as data-intensive cloud applications with this facility.
This new Data Centre has a resilient 220kV GIS substation with a LILO layout, according to Colt. The facility is low-risk. The IGBC-Green Data Centre awarded this project a "Platinum" rating, according to Colt DCS. The company sources its power from renewable sources, supporting its worldwide environmental responsibilities and helping clients achieve sustainability goals.
