Oracle has issued a force majeure notice to Blue Owl Capital over delays and potential cost increases tied to Project Jupiter, a 2.5GW data center campus in New Mexico, according to Bloomberg. Oracle became the project’s tenant in January 2026. The 1,400-acre campus is planned to include four data center buildings and is being developed by Stack and BorderPlex Digital Assets. If the project misses its planned 2028 completion, Oracle is seeking to delay related payments rather than end its tenancy.

Blue Owl acquired Stack Infrastructure in 2024. Project Jupiter has faced several setbacks, including New Mexico officials’ rejection of a proposed natural gas pipeline extension in July. Oracle has maintained that the project remains on schedule, despite the delay. The company had asked federal regulators to expedite the pipeline review, warning that missing the August 15 target could significantly increase costs. An earlier application was rejected in March.

Earlier this month, Oracle issued an RFP for 2GW of new renewable energy capacity in New Mexico to support Project Jupiter. It also announced up to $1 million for research into carbon capture and sequestration at the campus and elsewhere in the state. Oracle did not directly address the Bloomberg report but said Project Jupiter remains on schedule and that it remains committed to New Mexico. The company expects the project to generate more than $4.7 billion in economic benefits for the state.rc24-new-mexico-data-center.width-358.png
