The developer Valley Oak Partners, located in San Jose, California, has proposed constructing a data center with a floor space of 490,000 square feet at the former location of the construction materials firm USG in Fremont, California. According to Valley Oak, the facility would serve as a venue for clients to transfer their data servers or enhance their data capacity, depending on which option the client chooses.
According to an article published in the Silicon Valley Business Journal, the proposed data center is one of many significant project plans that are gaining interest in Fremont. The new data center construction would be built at 37887 Shinn Street on a site that is twelve acres in size and is a portion of the twenty-four-acre land that Valley Oak acquired in 2021 for the price of twenty million dollars.
Valley Oak has been quite active in Silicon Valley as of late, forming a partnership with TMG Partners to entitle a 1.1 million square foot campus in San Jose and establishing a 500-home, 29-acre master-planned community in the Warm Springs municipal of Fremont that will include retail property and a 260-room hotel. Both of these projects will be located in the Warm Springs neighborhood of Fremont.
