Green Mountain AS: Norway's Green Mountain plans $4.5 billion DC campus in Kalberg, Norway

Norway's Green Mountain has announced plans to build a massive data center campus in Norway following a ‘large international client’ request to establish itself near the new Fagrafjell transformer station. This new facility will be built on a site at Kalberg, about 20klometers from Stavanger in southwest Norway.

According to Green Mountain, the client requested for the first phase of construction to be completed by January 2025 and the final structure to be completed in 2027. To meet this request, Green Mountain has submitted a building application and is awaiting a building permit for the first building in the project. 

Green Mountain CEO Svein Atle Hagaseth said, “This project will create substantial positive ripple effects in terms of value creation, new jobs, competence development, and more. Our ambition is to build this facility with the lowest possible environmental footprint and to the highest standards of sustainability. All in line with our company vision.”
