Green Mountain has announced that it is expanding its Oslo, Norway campus by building a new data center at the facility. Green Mountain revealed that it bought a 570,500 square foot (53,000 square meters) plot of land next to its DC3-Oslo data center campus. According to Green Mountain, the Oslo campus will be expanded with a 13.5MW data center. Green Mountain has already started work on the new data center, with completion scheduled for November next year.
CEO of Green Mountain, Tor Kristian Gyland, noted that the project is a normal progression of its development plans at the Oslo site. He revealed that the first two buildings at the site had been dedicated to a single tenant, while the third building in construction will be a multitenant facility. The new facility will run on 100 percent green energy. It will also be connected to the local district heating grid for household use.
