German IT services firm Noris Network is planning a new data center in Frankfurt. The company this week announced plans for FRA1, a 30MW facility in Schwalbach am Taunus, around 11km (6.8 miles) northwest of Frankfurt.
"The demand for sovereign AI applications is growing exponentially. With our modular architecture, we are creating the infrastructure for the requirements of tomorrow,” said Florian Sippel, COO Noris Network.
Data Center Group has been selected as the project’s general contractor. Schwalbach am Taunus is a town in the Main-Taunus-Kreis district in Hesse, Germany. Maincubes also operates a facility close to Noris Network’s planned development.
Founded in 1993, Noris Network claims to be the first internet service provider in northern Bavaria. The company offers cloud, colocation, networking, security, and managed application services. According to its website, Noris Network operates six data centers across five sites in Germany, located in Nuremberg (two sites), Munich, Hof, and Ingolstadt.
