Equinix Carteret NY11: Nasdaq Breaks Ground on Expansion at Equinix NY11 Data Center

Nasdaq Inc. has started expanding its data center presence at Equinix’s NY11 data center in Carteret, New Jersey. Nasdaq first announced last December that it was expanding its presence at the site to support its cloud infrastructure build-out. Equinix announced in a LinkedIn post that it was happy to have Adena Friedman, the CEO and President of Nasdaq, join Equinix’s CEO and President at the ground-breaking ceremony. The company also revealed its excitement about partnering with AWS to help Nasdaq speed up its journey to the cloud.

The expansion plans will see the size of the facility double. The single-story facility currently offers 8,493 square meters (91,413 square feet) of colocation space. NY11 is located at 1400 Federal Boulevard. It was built in 2000. Equinix acquired the facility from Verizon in 2016.
