US stock exchange Nasdaq has revealed plans to migrate to AWS infrastructure. It will also be bringing AWS infrastructure into its on-premise network. The plan is for Nasdaq to migrate its North American markets to AWS at the beginning of 2022. Nasdaq will be approaching the migration in stages, starting with Nasdaq MRX, its US options market. The stock exchange firm also plans to move more of its North American markets to AWS’s cloud in the nearest future.

The primary data center for Nasdaq’s US Equities and Options Markets is located in New Jersey at the Equinix NY11 facility in Carteret. Nasdaq will be incorporating AWS Outposts directly into its core network at the NY11 data center. It will also use a new Edge-computing service co-designed by both companies for market infrastructure.
