Microsoft Azure: Microsoft Signs Agreement To Purchase Over 100-acres in Chelan County, Washington

Microsoft is set to buy over 100 acres in Malaga, Washington. According to the county's officials, the company will be using the land to develop data centers. Commissioners of the Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority signed a sale and purchase agreement with Microsoft for 102.5 acres of land in Chelan County. In an interview, Jim Kuntz, the Port Executive Director, said that Microsoft plans to expand its cloud infrastructure and has selected the county as the site for its significant investment.

The deal will span two phases. The first phase is the 72.5-acre Lojo property located at 5375 Malaga Alcoa Highway, costing Microsoft $6.5 million. The second phase is the Curtis and Torres properties with the size of 20 and 10 acres, respectively. These properties are located at 5351 Malaga Alcoa Highway and 5309 Malaga Alcoa Highway. The purchase price is $2.6 million.
