Meta signs long-term PPA in Texas

Meta has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with US-based renewable energy company Longroad Energy to purchase 100 percent of the output of the 300MWac (400MWdc) '1000 Mile' solar project in Yoakum County, Texas.

"The renewable energy from this project will support our data center operations, as well as our ongoing efforts to match our electricity usage with 100 percent clean and renewable energy," said Urvi Parekh, head of energy at Meta.

Longroad will deliver the energy to the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) grid, which supplies Meta’s data center operations in Texas. This is Longroad's first project within the SPP footprint. SPP and its member companies span 14 states, covering much of the central US, including the bulk of north Texas. 1000 Mile is Longroad's largest solar project and is expected to reach commercial operations in 2026.
