A brand-new Edge data center platform has launched in India. This month, MetaEdge debuted to serve Edge clients in tier-two cities nationwide. It was initially only available in three of India's largest metropolises. The firm has debuted in Indore, Mumbai, and Delhi by offering colocation, bare metal, and cloud services. There are few details available on the infrastructure the firm is employing, but it appears that for its early deployments, Yotta facilities are primarily used for hosting. While the Indore location is in the Crystal IT Park, and the facility picture in Delhi resembles a Yotta data center depiction, the Mumbai facility is housed in a Hiranandani/Yotta facility.
Although no information has been supplied regarding deadlines, MetaEdge intends to roll out over India. The company aims to satisfy the rising needs of hyperscale cloud services, the metaverse, AI/ML, games, OTT, 4K TV, CDN providers, 5G, and satellite connection. The director of MetaEdge, Priyal Kothari, expressed excitement about launching their newest Edge data center platform, which will meet the expanding needs of Indian internet consumers. They want to establish over 70 Edge data centers around India to democratize the Edge data center infrastructure. To do this, MetaEdge intends to collaborate with regional land developers.
