L&T to build data center at Kanchipuram

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that it is planning to build data centers in Kanchipuram following the signing of a pact with the Tamil Nadu government. Over the next five years, the company expects to establish 90 MW capacity data centers in "a phased manner." 

According to the company, this expansion will have significant economic benefits, with expectations to employ around 1,100 people.

Commenting on its expansion plans, L&T CEO and MD S N Subrahmanyan, commented: "Tamil Nadu is on a growth trajectory, and we are delighted to partner with the Government of Tamil Nadu to propel this growth by building a data centre that will further trigger development by attracting investments and generating jobs for the people of Kanchipuram."

There are 34 data centers in Tamil Nadu.
