Investment firm KKR, alongside Global Infrastructure Partners, has completed the acquisition of CyrusOne for $15 billion. CyrusOne owns and operates up to 50 data centers worldwide. Co-founder and interim President and CEO of CyrusOne, Dave Ferdman, commented that CyrusOne had built one of the leading data center companies globally with a presence across major US and international markets. He said the company has continuously supported its customers’ mission-critical digital infrastructure requirements while also ensuring stockholders have significant value for their stocks.
Dave Ferdman also added that KKR and Global Infrastructure Partners would provide CyrusOne with the well-needed resources and expertise to speed up its global expansion. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022. Upon completion, CyrusOne will become a privately held company wholly owned by Global Infrastructure Partners and KKR.
