Kao Data recently completed work on its second data center in Harlow, UK and has noted that the facility is now ready for operations. According to a LinkedIn post shared by the company on November 28, the KLON-02 is a 10MW data center that has been designed and built "to the highest standards of sustainability and efficiency.”
The facility will be fully powered by certified renewable energy, use hydrotreated vegetable oil for backup generators, and meet the BREEAM 'Excellent' certification criteria. It is the company's second Nvidia DGX-ready data center in Harlow, and can potentially house up to 1,800 racks of GPU-powered IT equipment across its four data halls.
Kao Data chairman David Bloom said, "Today marks a significant step forward in Kao Data’s journey, and it’s rewarding to see our vision for the Harlow campus further evolving. As the data center industry reaches a major inflection point, it’s vital that UK Government ambitions to become a world-leader in AI and research are matched by world-class infrastructure capable of supporting advanced workloads.”
He added, "Through the continued development of our high performance data center portfolio and our ethos for technical excellence, we believe that Kao Data will continue to play an integral role in the future of UK compute.”
