KAO Data: Kao Data to open access to Harlow data center to Jisc

UK operator Kao Data has partnered with Jisc to give the latter's customers access to its Harlow data center capacity. Through this partnership, users of Janet (the UK's national research and education network) will enable Jisc's 18 million+ user base to access capacity at the Harlow data campus.

Alec Wright, cloud and data center services manager, Jisc said, “AI-powered computing is advancing academic research at an unprecedented pace, but as both energy demands and datasets increase in size and scale, they compound the requirement for access to scalable, resilient, and highly connected infrastructure. The ability of our partners to support complex scientific data models while meeting technological and sustainability targets is, therefore, a key consideration as we grow the range of Jisc data center services. We’re proud to name Kao Data the first of our referral partners as we seek to bolster academic and scientific research efforts across the UK.”
