Italian data center company Irideos has begun work on a new data center at its Avalon campus in the city of Milan. The new facility named Avalon 3 will have space for 500 racks across 37,700 square feet (3,500 square meters). It will also have 3.2MW of capacity. Irideos is building the new data center 4KM away from its Avalon Campus. Besides, the facility is expected to be in operation in July 2022.

Irideos’ Avalon campus covers 140,000 square feet (13,000 square meters), with a capacity for more than 2,600 racks. The firm connected the Avalon 1 and 2 facilities to form a single ‘virtual data center.’ CEO of Irideos said the company has decided to invest in expanding its Avalon campus by developing a new sustainable and cutting-edge facility. Irideos announced that the facility would be powered by 100 percent renewable energy. It will also have a PUE of 1.3.
