According to Le Monde Informatique, Interxion has plans to build a new data center campus in the Essonne region of France. Interxion filed a building permit with the DDE asking to operate a 15-hectare land in Les Ulis/Villeiuste. The site will also have a power supply of 130MW. Although details on the facility’s specifications were not revealed, the first phase of the development is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2023.
President of Interxion France, Fabrice Coquio, said the investment would cost less than €1 billion ($1.15bn). He also added that Interxion is expecting plenty of hyperscale-type companies and businesses. Aside from that, Coquio also revealed a program to gradually replace the diesel the company uses for emergency generators with hydrotreated vegetable oil fuel.
