Croatian ICT solutions provider Cratis revealed that it will launch a new data center this month in Varazdin, north of Zagreb, in partnership with local polyethylene films, bags, and packaging manufacturer Muraplast.
This new DC North facility will offer 2.8MW across six data rooms – each 340 sqm hall hosts 96 racks – and operate with a PUE of 1.14 on its 2,000 square feet. Cratis also claims it is the only Tier-III-certified data center in Croatia, though Uptime's awards page for Croatia lists about three others.
In an email to SeeNews, a company spokesperson stated, "The first phase of the project was valued at €17 million ($18m), and it has been funded through our own resources and a loan, without any subsidies."
PBZ bank, which provided a loan for the DC North project, commented, "We are pleased to be part of an important infrastructure project for digital transformation, which is one of the main priorities of the European Union."
