A1 Croatia opens a Tier III Zagreb data center

Dec 02, 2021 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

A1 Croatia has opened a new data center in Zagreb. The company began construction on the facility in October 2020. The 21,500 square feet (2,000 square meters) data center cost the company €11 million ($13m). In addition, the data center was designed to withstand earthquakes up to 9 on the Richter scale. The design was incorporated in the construction of the data center when a 5.5 earthquake struck Zagreb in March 2020.

The data center has its own substation powered by two independent branches with a capacity of up to 2MW. It can also host up to 300 IT cabinets across six technical rooms. The data center is built to Tier III standards, and it is A1 Croatia’s second Tier III facility in Croatia.

There are 14 data centers in Zagreb.
