Rimac Technology supplies its UNI battery modules, a battery management system, and power electronics. Ecoblox contributes the modular data center architecture, design, and hardware and software system integration, including GPU system integration and its data center infrastructure management (DCIM) platform.
The joint design unifies power conversion, uninterruptible power supply, precision cooling, and IT infrastructure in a single modular footprint. The Rimac battery management system streams telemetry into the Ecoblox DCIM platform for monitoring, alarms, and analytics. The companies are targeting high-density AI and high-performance computing workloads as compute power architectures move toward 400 VDC and 800 VDC direct current.
Partnering with Rimac Technology allows us to redefine high-density power delivery for the next generation of AI compute," said Doug Makishima, chief executive of Ecoblox. "By integrating automotive-grade energy storage and power electronics directly into our modular data center architecture, we are removing grid constraints and enabling cloud providers and enterprise customers to deploy scalable, power-resilient AI clusters faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Nurdin Pitarević, chief executive of Rimac Technology, said the UNI modules were developed and industrialized for automotive requirements. "The same capabilities are increasingly relevant to high-power AI infrastructure, where power density, thermal management, safety, and reliability are critical," Pitarević said.
Rimac Technology, part of Rimac Group, is based at the Rimac Campus in Kerestinec, Sveta Nedelja, near Zagreb, according to Balkan Green Energy News. Ecoblox is based in Dubai and is an NVIDIA Preferred Partner that also provides cluster design, procurement, installation, and managed services, Data Centre & Network News reports. Ecoblox says its modular systems can be deployed at local power sources in six to eight months.
Baxtel counts 19 data center facilities in Croatia, run by 11 providers, with 22MW of combined power. The largest is PCK-DataCross's Križ site at 5MW, and 14 of the country's facilities sit in the Zagreb metro.
The installed unit at the Rimac Campus will operate as a live demonstration of the joint system and a platform for customer and partner engagement, the companies said.
