Huawei is reportedly set to finalize its data center location in Saudi Arabia, the giant’s second in the Middle East, following the establishment of a first in Abu Dhabi.
In a statement, Frank Dai, President of Huawei Cloud M.E, said: “We are in the final stages of the Saudi decision — the investment decision has already been made. All that’s left is where in Riyadh should the facility be built.”
He added: “The Middle East remains central to our vision of how digital transformation can reshape economies, even change the world. This is only the beginning of what data-driven economies can achieve.”
According to Dai, Saudi Arabia is one of the strategic markets the company believes it must be in, and subsequently outlined that it will continue to invest in the whole data and cloud computing space across the region. Dai elaborated: “The Middle East remains central to our vision of how digital transformation can reshape economies, even change the world. This is only the beginning of what data-driven economies can achieve.”
He went on to say that digital infrastructure and, more specifically, cloud technology is the “foundation” of a real ‘intelligent’ world.
