ESR Already Developing its 19.2MW OS1data center in Osaka, Japan

Asia’s ESR Group has started work on its 19.2MW facility in Osaka, Japan. The real estate company revealed that the Cosmosquare OS1 data center would be phase 1 of its three-phase facility at Nanko Kita. The company plans to develop a total of 96MW on the site. OS1 is scheduled to be completed in July 2024. The other two phases, OS2 and OS3, will come later. 

ESR plans to develop a hysperscale facility for enterprises, data center operators, and cloud service providers. The company first announced its plan to develop the data center campus in 2021 after acquiring an existing Osaka facility. After the development of the new data centers, the total capacity on the site is expected to reach 97MW.

There are 65 data centers in Osaka.
