Empyrion Digital has secured financing from E.Sun Bank for its 7MW TW1 Taipei Data Center in Taiwan. Located in Neihu, the five-story facility will offer 4,260 sqm (45,855 sq ft) of colocation space and is expected to be ready for service by Q4 2027. The data center will support AI, HPC, enterprise, and cloud workloads, while photovoltaic walls will help reduce energy and water consumption. Construction began in January 2026, following the project’s initial announcement in November 2024.

Empyrion CEO Teruo Iwamoto said: “Closing this financing is another important step in our growth in Taiwan. It reflects the strong fundamentals of TW1 and our financing partner’s confidence in the project and Taiwan’s broader digital infrastructure market. We thank E.Sun Bank, our advisers, and all our partners for their support throughout the financing process.”

E.Sun Bank shared that it “is pleased to support Empyrion Digital in the financing of TW1. As AI, cloud computing, and digital services continue to grow, resilient and high-quality digital infrastructure is becoming increasingly important to Taiwan’s digital economy.”

Empyrion Digital, backed by Seraya Partners, operates data centers across six Asian countries and is developing projects in Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, and Taiwan. E.Sun Bank, headquartered in Taipei, previously arranged $1.2 billion in financing for AirTrunk’s TOK1 data center in Japan. Seraya Partners manages $2.7 billion in assets focused on digital infrastructure and energy transition.Empyrion_tw1_taiwan.width-358.jpg
