Digital Halo, a Singapore-based data center developer, has topped out the first building at its campus in Johor. The company recently marked the topping out of its JHB1 facility with the installation of the final steel beam. Announced last year and targeted to go live in Q4 2026, the first phase will provide 20MW of IT capacity, already fully leased to a single customer. Once fully developed, the multi-building campus is expected to exceed 120MW of total IT capacity.
“This facility represents a foundational infrastructure for the digital economy that enables businesses to grow, supports innovation, and serve as a cornerstone of digital infrastructure for many years to come. We are deeply grateful to the federal government and Johor state leadership for their guidance and support.” said Kai Goh, Digital Halo co-founder and CEO, “JHB 1 is only the beginning, we are dedicated to prioritizing energy efficiency, delivering high-quality digital infrastructure, and responsible operations to support and accelerate a digital ecosystem in Malaysia.”
The company is also building a campus outside Manila. The first phase went live in 2023 and currently covers 7,015 sqm (75,508 sq ft). Once fully developed, the three-building campus will deliver up to 70MW of total capacity. Jansen Ang, member of management, infrastructure Asia, Partners Group, added: “Johor is an ideal location, underpinned by strong connectivity, a commitment to delivering world-class energy solutions, and a business-friendly environment. We are pleased to see JHB1 fully leased to a leading customer, which strongly validates both the quality of infrastructure being developed, and Johor’s attractiveness as a destination for global digital platforms and long-term investment.”
