Asia-Pacific data center operator Digital Edge has reached a major construction milestone with the topping out of the first facility at its new campus near Jakarta, Indonesia. The company announced the completion of the structural framework for CGK1, the inaugural building within its CGK Campus at the Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) in Bekasi. The facility is scheduled to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2026.
“This milestone marks the completion of the building’s main structure and reflects strong execution progress as we move closer to service readiness,” the company said on LinkedIn this week. “CGK1 is part of Digital Edge’s long‑term commitment to developing scalable, resilient, and AI‑ready digital infrastructure in Indonesia.”
Earlier this year, Digital Edge revealed plans for a 1GW data center campus at the GIIC Industrial Estate near Jakarta. The first facility is expected to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the second and third buildings scheduled to come online in the first and second quarters of 2027, respectively. Together, the campus’s first four buildings are projected to provide 500MW of capacity. Digital Edge was established in August 2020 by New York-based private equity firm Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners.
The company entered the Indonesian market in 2021 through the acquisition of a controlling stake in Indonet. At the time, Indonet operated a single 6MW data center in Jakarta. A second facility, delivering 23MW of capacity, was launched in 2024.The developer operates and is developing approximately 25 data centers, with over 1.1GW of IT power capacity spread across Japan, South Korea, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) is located in Bekasi, east of Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta. Covering 2,100 hectares, the industrial estate hosts around 170 tenants, the majority of which are Japanese manufacturing companies.
