APAC data center provider Digital Edge is reportedly planning a 270MW data center development near Mumbai, India.According to The Economic Times, citing a person familiar with the project, the company acquired an approximately 30-acre parcel at the proposed Green Integrated Data Centre Park in Palava. Digital Edge reportedly paid around Rs10 billion ($104 million) for the site.

Lodha, the developer behind the proposed data center park, confirmed the transaction in a press release issued on Friday, July 6. Located around 45km (28 miles) northeast of Mumbai, Palava is emerging as a key data center hub in the region. Digital Edge is owned by New York-based private equity firm Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners and operates more than a dozen data centers across the APAC region, either in service or under construction.

First announced in January 2023, Digital Edge broke ground on its 300MW data center campus in Navi Mumbai in 2024. In February, the company signed an 83MW solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with Hexa to support the first phase of its 350MW BOM campus in Navi Mumbai.Digital_Edge_DC.width-358.jpg
