Deep Edge Realty has announced the acquisition of a carrier hotel in Portland, Maine. The property is at 340 Cumberland Avenue. The selling company is Northland Enterprises. None of the companies revealed the terms of the transaction. The CEO and founder of Deep Edge Realty, Martin Hannigan, said the company sees an opportunity to build on the existing infrastructure in the area by attracting existing and current market participants to improve the region’s capabilities.

The carrier hotel has eight stories and it was built in 1924. The building also totals 4,850 square meters (52,272 square feet). Initially, it was designed for fireproof secure record storage. However, it is now been used for telecommunications and data center purposes. Deep Edge currently operated two data centers in the US. It occupies a carrier hotel located in Reno, Nevada and a space at 701 East Trade in Charlotte, North Carolina.
