Teledata has been acquired by Datum Datacentres. Datum Datacentres announced the acquisition of the Manchester-based colocation data center. Interestingly, Datum was also acquired last year by UBS. According to the company, the acquisition is a part of its regional expansion strategy. Details of the transaction were not revealed.
The CEO of Datum, Dominic Phillips, said: “Manchester has always been our primary target market for expansion, and the region continues to show strong growth.” He continued by saying: “Teledata has had a presence in the Manchester market for many years, and its recent rapid growth consolidates this position. With an additional fully powered and adjacent site secured for immediate development we look forward to providing further quality colocation capacity to the Manchester market.”
Teledata was established in 2004, and its existing facility was launched in 2007. The data center provides cloud, colocation, dedicated server hosting, and workplace recovery services across 6,500 square meters (70,000 square feet) of floor space. The company also plans to open another Manchester data center that will offer up to 2,300 square meters (25,000 square feet) of data center space.
