UBS Asset Management has completed the acquisition of UK data center firm Datum Datacentres. UBS says it has acquired a 100 percent stake in the data center company from Darwin Private Equity. Datum operates a 40,000 square feet facility called FRN1 in the QinetiQ Cody Technology Park in Farnborough, outside London.
KeySource built the data center facility in 2012, and it uses adiabatic cooling. According to Datum, the adiabatic cooling allows it to achieve a PUE of 1.25. Datum also signed Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin to counterbalance its energy use. UBS revealed that it would be pursuing site expansion and opportunities in the future.
This will be UBS’ second data center investment in 2021 as it provided $61.1 million to the Lefdal Mine Datacenter in June. This was to support the expansion of the data center facility.
