Crusoe has partnered with SMR developer Aalo Atomics to deploy what the companies describe as the world's first nuclear-powered AI data centre. The partnership will see a Crusoe Spark modular data centre deployed at Idaho National Laboratory in 2027, powered by Aalo’s 50MWe Pod reactor. The companies aim to roll out Aalo Pods across Crusoe’s data centre portfolio by the end of 2029.

Aalo’s flagship 50MW Pod combines five 10MWe microreactors into a single unit and uses sodium and air cooling, eliminating the need for external water. Crusoe’s modular Spark data centre delivers nearly 1MW of AI compute in a containerised design. The partnership is Crusoe’s second nuclear deal, following its 2025 agreement with Blue Energy to develop a planned 1.5GW nuclear-powered campus in Texas.
