Bharti Airtel: Bharti Airtel has commissions 21 MW solar power plant

Bharti Airtel is expanding its renewable energy offerings with the commissioning of a 21 MW solar power plant in Bhuldana, Maharashtra. According to the company, this solar power energy will be used by Nxtra's data centers, and projections are that the solar-powered unit will reduce 25,517 tonnes in carbon emissions a year.
The company is a signatory of the Paris Agreement, and sustainability is reportedly a "priority area" for it. Furthermore, Nxtra by Airtel CEO Rajesh Tapadia has said that this solar power plant is "yet another step" towards the fulfillment of its commitment to source more than 50% of its data center power requirements by renewable energy sources in the next year and "contribute to Airtel's overall GHG emission reduction targets."
Airtel has made a number of sustainability commitments recently, including the reduction of its scope 1 and 2 Green House Gas (GHG) by 50.2% by FY2031 (from FY2021 as the base year, as well as its commitment to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 42% in accordance with the same time frame.
