BDx Data Centers: BDx To Develop a 16MW Hong Kong Data Center

Big Data Exchange (BDx), a pan-Asian data center company, will construct a new data center in Hong Kong. This week, the business revealed its intention to construct a second 16MW plant in an impending high-tech industrial area built by Hong Kong's Sino Group. The new facility, situated in the core of the Kwai Chung District and designated HKG8, will be BDx's fourth in Hong Kong. The company anticipates the plant will be operational by the end of 2023.
Bdx's Hong Kong footprint consists of the 120,000 sq ft, 5MW HKG1 site in Wong Chuk Hang and the 110,000 sq ft, 4MW HKG2 site in Kwai Chung, according to the company website.
Sino Group, founded in 1971, consists of three publicly traded firms – Sino Land Company Limited, Tsim Sha Tsui Properties Limited, and Sino Hotels – and a number of Ng Family-owned private enterprises. The Group possesses a network of residential, business, industrial, retail, and hospitality assets in Hong Kong, mainland China, Australia, and Singapore and has completed over 250 projects totaling over 130 million square feet. 18-story 38 Wing Kee Road is scheduled for completion in the 2nd quarter of 2023. (back from Q4 2022). Each level is 12,314 square feet. BDx is projected to be the building's major tenant.
