Amazon Web Services has plans to develop an 83,600 square meter (900,000 square feet) data center campus in Bristow, Northern Virginia. The company has filed to rezone over 59 acres in Nokesville Road from A-1, Agricultural to Planned Business Development. This is for the sole purpose of developing a data center campus. The project is called Bristow Campus. It will also see the development of two three-story data center buildings. Each building will span 41,800 square meters (450,000 square feet). It will also have a substation.

AWS said in its filing that all things being equal, the property is positioned for the development of a data center because of its surrounding land uses. Per the filing, Amazon said there’s no real difference between the properties surrounding it and the property proposed for data center development.
