Feb 10, 2022 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

Adam Real Estate and Avaio have come together to form a new hyperscale joint venture in Quebec, Canada. The joint venture will be called Gatineau Data Hub (GDH) to develop a new, sustainable, hyperscale facility in Gatineau, Quebec. Gatineau is located to the north of Ottawa. The partnership will see the companies develop data centers with up to 50MW of capacity. None of the companies revealed the timelines or sizes of the facilities.

A partner of Avaio, Mark McComiskey, said Gatineau is a great location for developing a data center. He noted that the location makes it possible to cater to customers' needs in the National Capital Region. McComiskey further added that Avaio looks forward to teaming up with Adam Real Estate to develop new sustainable, critical digital infrastructure in a major market.

There are 17 data centers in Quebec City.
