AtNorth has revealed that it is mulling over locations for a potential 50MW data center campus. It also hopes to decide before the end of Q1 2022. The CEO of AtNorth, Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson, discussed the company’s plans in an interview with He said Stockholm is the company’s first investment outside Iceland. In addition, AtNorth aims to be a top data center firm in the Nordic region. According to Kristinsson, the company wants to have locations in the capitals while also planning to build a mega data center campus.
Kristinsson also said Sweden is a strong possibility for the proposed data center campus. He also noted that one key requirement for the location is easy access to renewable energy. The company currently has a facility in Sweden under construction. Work on the SWE01 data center started in late 2020, and the first phase is scheduled to be live in March 2022.
