atNorth has announced the launch of its first data center in Stockholm, Sweden. The Icelandic company revealed that its Kista data center is now up and running. According to atNorth, the facility is Sweden’s first data center designed for high-density workloads such as risk analysis, simulations, and AI. atNorth started work at the facility back in 2020. It was also expected to complete the first 1.5MW data hall in December last year. The data center will have over 11MW capacity and 68,900 square feet (6,400 square meters) upon full build-out.
The company’s Nordic Sales Director, Stefan Jofors-aTribe, “Data-driven businesses require a new type of data center. We will be the first colocation player in the Nordics to build a facility fully equipped for high-capacity services from the start.” He added that Stockholm as the data center location is a strategic move as it has access to great connectivity, green energy, and an infrastructure that allows the company to deliver world-class services with high precision to customers outside and inside the Nordic region.
